Rashad Moulton, a product of the St. Petersburg Sharks was the first SSFL player to sign an NFL contract with the
Jacksonville Jaguars in 2007.

Spike Lee & Dallas Cowboy Michael Irvin Produce Sports Reality Show
Preston McCann, Orlando Rage Wide Receiver Makes the Top 36 Contestants
Story Line: A soon to come TV Sports Reality Show, headed by Spike Lee and former Dallas Cowboy Michael Irvin, will feature receivers and defensive backs in a competition similar to "American Idol" with the selection of the top 36 contestants from 1000's of America's top football talent. The winner of the competition will earn the oportunity to be a Dallas Cowboy for the coming season. Stated Commissioner Rice, " When contacted by the shows representative, I was told that based on the leagues reputation they would reserve up to 5 spots for SSFL players to be interviewed of the 1000's who applied if they were recommended by the players coach, owner and myself. Preston McCann, WR for the Orlando Rage, MVP of the 2008 Rice Bowl Championship Game and a consistent standout was recommended and with the necessary support and follow up of Rage owner, Chris Morrison and coach Leonard Opheim and with consultation with Prestons dad, the process began".
The results are that Preston has made the cut and included in the top 36. He and the others are in Dallas, Texas for the week, taking NFL combine tests which will bring the final number of contestants to 12 players. Added the Commissioner, "When asked to make an evaluation of Preston, I indicated that he was a bookend to a former player of mine at Fordhm University, in size, speed, and dedication, by the name of Kurt Sohn, who had a 6 year career as a NY Jet. I expect Preston to make a great impression on the selection committee".
